In the summer of 2020, the Schöller Endowed Chair of Information Systems will host one of the oldest international conferences in information systems. The “Computer and People Research” (CPR) Conference of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Special Interest Group (SIG) Management Information Systems (MIS) provides researchers with a platform to discuss various issues of digitization which focus on the human factor. The motto of the conference is “Digital Innovation: Designing our Digital Future”. The conference will discuss how individuals can be won over to digital innovation, but also what changes are necessary to make companies more innovative. The conference will also focus on the question of how IT departments can shape innovation processes in companies. It will also be discussed how curricula at universities must change in order to better anchor digital innovation and the associated phenomena in teaching. The complete Call for Paper is available here and the deadline for submissions is 15 January 2020.

The first CPR conference was held over 55 years ago in 1962 for the first time and found its home in the ACM SIG on Management Information Systems, founded in 1961. The conference in Nuremberg will be the first in its history to be held in Germany and will be hosted by the Department of Economics and Social Sciences at the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. The host will be Prof. Dr. Sven Laumer, holder of the Schöller Endowed Chair of Information Systems, who will be supported by many German colleagues in organizing the conference.
