CV

Florian J. Meier studied Economics with a focus on Information Systems and International Information Systems at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg and Computer Science at the Politecnico di Milano in Milan. During this time, he gained experience working in management consulting for family businesses, as well as in two family-owned businesses specializing in digital learning materials.

In mid-2021, he began his PhD position at the chair after working as a research associate. His research focuses on hybrid work, virtual organizations, and social networks, contributing to a deeper understanding of the evolving workplace and organizational dynamics. His research was published at leading information systems conferences such as ICIS, HICSS, WI, and CPR as well as the Database for Advances in Information Systems journal.

He also acetively collaborates with IT and strategy consulting firms and has also founded and successfully sold a startup in the railway industry. From 2021 to 2024, he was part of the Softwarecampus program and he did a 6-month research and teaching stay at the University of Innsbruck during the winter of 2023 to 2024.
