Bachelor and Project Thesis
Bachelor and Project Thesis
Dear students,
Thank you for your interest in the theses offered by the Schöller Endowed Chair for Information Systems (Digitization in Business and Society). The chair team is happy to support you in writing your seminar paper, project paper, bachelor’s or master’s thesis. You can either apply for one of the advertised topics or submit your own proposal that fits the research focus and publications of the chair. We are also happy to support theses in cooperation with companies (so-called “external” theses), as long as they are compatible with our research focus. However, theses in co-supervision with other chairs are not possible at our chair.
Application procedure
Course-specific requirements
First, please make sure that you meet the necessary requirements for writing a scientific paper at the chair. The examination regulations of your degree program are decisive; if necessary, the chair can also define its own requirements. Whether you are allowed to write a thesis at our chair depends on your course of study and the framework or subject examination regulations (Rahmen- und Prüfungsordnung) currently applicable to you. Basically, electives (focus modules) or so-called “Wahlpflicht- oder (Vertiefungs-)module” offered by the Schöller Endowed Chair of Information Systems in the context of lectures and seminars must be listed in the module handbook valid for you. If you have not successfully taken a module with us, you must submit an exception request when submitting your application documents, in which you give sufficient reasons why you would like to write a thesis with us. The exception does not apply to the bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in industrial engineering with a focus on mechanical engineering or electrical engineering.
However, the student is solely responsible for ensuring that the thesis can be credited to his or her own studies.
