Innovation Research Meets Teaching: Johann Füller Visits the Digital Change Management Lecture

As part of the Digital Change Management course at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, the Schöller-Endowed Chair of Information Systems had the pleasure of welcoming Prof. Dr. Johann Füller from the University of Innsbruck.

Prof. Füller is one of the leading international scholars in the fields of innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation. His research examines how ideas emerge, how innovation processes can be organized, and how emerging technologies reshape markets and organizations. In addition to his academic achievements, he is well known for successfully bridging research and practice through his work with innovation initiatives and entrepreneurial activities.

During his guest lecture, Prof. Füller shared insights from his current research on Agentic AI, innovation, and the future of decision-making. The discussion focused on how increasingly autonomous AI systems may influence innovation processes, consumer behavior, and market dynamics. Students explored opportunities and challenges associated with intelligent agents and reflected on the implications for organizations undergoing digital transformation.

The session provided an excellent opportunity for students to engage directly with a distinguished international researcher, discuss emerging developments in artificial intelligence, and connect theoretical concepts from the course with current research questions.

We would like to sincerely thank Prof. Füller for his visit, his inspiring presentation, and the engaging discussion with our students.

His visit was particularly timely, as he was recently appointed Schöller Senior Fellow at the Dr. Theo and Friedl Schöller Research Center for Business and Society. We look forward to continued collaboration and the valuable insights his fellowship will bring to FAU and the broader research community.
