Sebastian recently completed his time at the Schöller Endowed Chair for Information Systems and will begin his new position as Professor of Information Systems at Ohm University of Applied Sciences in September 2026.
Sebastian was one of the first researchers to join the Schöller Endowed Chair during its establishment. He completed his doctoral studies under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sven Laumer and played a key role in shaping the chair’s research and teaching activities from the very beginning.
His research focused on enterprise social media, emerging social platforms such as BeReal, social network analysis, and knowledge management. Through his work, he contributed valuable insights into how digital platforms influence communication, collaboration, and knowledge sharing within organizations.
Sebastian also made substantial contributions to teaching. He developed lectures and tutorials on social media, social network analysis, and knowledge management, helping many students gain a deeper understanding of digital collaboration and organizational networks.
Following the completion of his PhD, Sebastian continued his academic engagement as a part-time postdoctoral researcher while simultaneously serving as Digital Transformation Lead in industry. This unique combination of academic excellence and practical leadership has prepared him exceptionally well for his new role as professor.
The entire team of the Schöller Endowed Chair congratulates Sebastian on this well-deserved appointment and wishes him every success in his new position. We look forward to continuing our collaboration and following his future achievements in research, teaching, and academic leadership.
