Xhovana earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Tirana, Albania, where she studied from 2012 to 2016. During her undergraduate studies, she gained foundational knowledge in management, finance, and statistics. After completing her degree, she moved to the United States and pursued a Bachelor of Economics at the University of Massachusetts Boston from 2019 to 2022, graduating summa cum laude. During this program, she developed strong expertise in economic theory and statistical modeling.
While completing her second bachelor’s degree, Xhovana interned part-time for one semester at the City of Boston Assessing Department, where she developed statistical models for housing value estimation related to taxation, further strengthening her quantitative and analytical skills.
Alongside her studies, Xhovana worked for three years as a manager at a large U.S. retailer, where she gained substantial experience in employee training and team management. She subsequently worked as a banker and was recognized as the top-performing banker in the Boston region for two consecutive quarters.
In 2022, Xhovana moved to Germany to pursue a Master of Science in International Information Systems at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen–Nürnberg. During her master’s studies, she acquired a broad set of technical skills and participated in a course project for STABILO, where she was responsible for designing and testing educational game levels for the STABILO Edu Pen.
Additionally, during her master’s program, Xhovana worked for two and a half years as a student assistant at the Schöller Endowed Chair of Information Systems, Digitization in Business and Society. In this role, she (1) analyzed, reviewed, and summarized scientific literature on information systems topics such as responsible and ethical AI and recommender systems; (2) researched, prepared, and reviewed course materials; (3) maintained and updated online course platforms; and (4) conducted statistical data analyses and prepared presentations to summarize research findings. Through this work, she gained extensive experience in research, teaching support, and digital platform management. Her master’s thesis focused on user perceptions of social media platforms and their behavioral implications. In connection with this work, she received an exploratory research grant from Nürnberg Institut für Marktentscheidungen (NIM).
Since November 2025, Xhovana has been a research assistant at the same chair. She is also a member of the International Doctorate Program in Business and Human Rights at the Center for Human Rights Erlangen-Nuremberg. In the future, she will be involved in research, teaching, and program administration, with a research focus on the intersection of technology and business and human rights.
